Qualifications:
- Have completed a Power System Specialty Course plus one of the following: ESO Specialty, Power Services Specialty, or Power Line/Cable Specialty
- 13 years of experience in Power Distribution System installation, testing, commissioning, Trouble shooting, repairs and maintenance.
Task Description:
- Completes command over using and analyzing the test results obtained from Doble tester, Hi-Pot tester, Oscilloscopes, Thermo-vision camera, TTR, Winding resistance tester, Meggers, Phasing out tester, Oil filtering machine and other test equipment used in the Power Services unit.
- Diagnosing and resolving most day-to-day distribution system faults and maintenance problems
- Operating, commissioning, testing, repair and maintenance of power distribution equipment with rated voltage of 4.16 kV to 230kV.
- Supervises multiple crews at the same time in distance separated facilities, these will range from 20 to 30 facilities and the number of employees ranges from 15 to 30 employees.
- Leads and directs safety meetings with the crew and ensures strict compliance with approved safety practices, PDI instructions and Saudi Aramco standards.
- Investigates major system faults and equipment failures and prepares the preliminary report of the incident.
- Conducts frequent Safety Audits and Quality checks with proper interventions. Report findings and recommendations to the unit and division heads.
- Leads and directs senior technicians in conducting testing and maintenance of different power system equipment using three phase current injection sets, logic analyzers, Oscilloscopes, Doble tester, Hi-Pot tester, Thermo-vision camera, Oil Filtering machine, Cable Test Van and other testing equipment.
- Maintains record for all test reports, establish trend record for different power system equipment tested by Doble tester, hi-Pot tester and thermo-vision camera.
- Directs, search and obtain all necessary spare parts required for the maintenance and repair of all equipment under the maintenance of the areas of operation.
- Receives directions and discuss work schedules from the unit head and division head, obtain outages and coordinates work with Maintenance, Project Management Teams, Operations and Construction organizations during T&I and mega projects.
- Recommends design changes and improvements to the division head for equipment operation, reliability, maintenance practices, troubleshooting techniques and training of the lower classified technicians.
- Works as unit head when required.
