Task Description:
  • Ranging from creating and filing legal documents to interacting with other departments and Legal Advisors.
  • Help with discovery, investigating facts, researching, and many other facets of law.
  • Assist Legal Advisors in whatever way the Legal Advisors need to perform duties.
  • Draft documents for board meetings, including notices, proxies, affidavits of mailing, agenda, ballots, oaths, and written consents.
  • Serve as assistant to the board of directors' secretary and committees, including attending, recording and maintaining minutes of all board meetings and certain committee meetings.
  • Review contracts, regulatory filings, policies, and other corporate documents.
  • Research and develop technology and office automation within the legal department, and maintain law library.
  • Analyze proposed settlements for Legal Advisor's review.
  • Research legal questions.
  • Attend hearings to assist Legal Advisor with all aspects of hearing, including exhibits, witnesses, and notes regarding judge's rulings.
  • Archiving legal documents.
  • Clerical and administrative tasks
  • Operating office equipment
  • Scheduling meetings
  • Greeting department visitors
  • Keeping schedule of all meetings, appointments, and court dates
  • Copying, printing, and scanning
  • Corresponding to emails
  • Assisting in revising documents i.e. grammar
  • Receiving phone calls and taking messages and other information from external clients
  • Receiving emails and replying/forwarding as appropriate
  • Making calls to within the company and externally
  • Liaising with other departments within the company
  • Creating, organizing, and maintaining legal records, files, and documents through filing systems electronically and through hard copies
  • Arranging for transport and travel requirements
  • Running errands outside of company premises i.e. delivery of legal paperwork to client
  • Ordering items as requested by department
